Anand - Gelfand

The World Chess Championship 2012 will be a match between the current world champion Viswanathan Anand of India and Boris Gelfand of Israel, winner of the Candidates tournament. The match will be held in May 2012 to determine the World Chess Champion. It will be held under the auspices of FIDE, the World Chess Federation.

Regulations

The prize fund is 2.55 million US Dollars.

The winner gets $1,530,000 (60%) and the loser $1,020,000 (40%)

Chief Arbiter of the tournament will be IA Ashot Vardapetyan (ARM)

Playing Hall

According to the contract on the Match the games will be played inside Moscow's Tretyakov State Gallery

Ilya Levitov, the head of the Russian chess federation said contrary to the FIDE press release, the match will take place in one of Moscow's museums.
